It has a baker, grocery shop,  a nice town square with bars and restaurants and boasts an impressive castle.

Thiviers, "Capital du Foie Gras", is the closest bigger town (12km). It has a very nice Saturday market (9:00 - 12:00) and you will find shops, restaurants and 5 supermarkets.
